I'm a published book author!

My dining room/office is now full of books! In other words, Gold Earrings in now an actual published book! Once the proof copy went back to Tate Publishing, everything began to spin quickly to get Gold Earrings into print.
Plans for marketing include Facebook, Fan page on Facebook, book signings, email, postcards, John316 Marketing Network.
Join the fan page, MyFacebook friends, and this blog to stay in the loop.
I have posted the first 5 chapters of my new book A Time to Choose on http://authonomy.com.

The Proof Copy Is at the Publisher!

I have held the proof copy in book form!

I combed through the text and went English teacher on it! My publisher is probably shocked at the number of errors I found at this last opportunity to make corrections. Since I signed a content approval, only obvious errors (spelling, punctuation, etc.) will be changed at this point.

The ride has been amazing. The next trick is publication and marketing. I'm also scheduled to write a script for a book trailer for cable TV (like James Patterson has done)! I have a Facebook page for Gold Earrings.

I hope to have a book signing at Hastings and Celtic Cup in Tullahoma. It will be available as an e-book. It will be able to be ordered online from Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble.

Waiting to Publish Gold Earrings

So I'm in the waiting time. I signed a contract to publish Gold Earrings with Tate Publishing. The book is scheduled to enter production in November (a little over a week away!).

Friends have asked me a zillion well-intentioned questions. Unfortunately many of my answers have been "I don't know".
  1. When will your book be out? (In the next 6 months, I think.)
  2. Can I get it on ebook? (Yes, I think so.)
  3. How can you remember all that stuff to write a novel? (Sometimes I have to re-read it to remember key plot or character elements)
  4. Where did you get your ideas for a book? (Gold Earrings was a short story that I wrote for a high school composition class that I expanded one summer in the middle of grad school.)
  5. How do you know what to write? (Well, I write what the characters say and do in my head. It's somewhat like writing down the elements of a movie as you watch it.)
  6. How can you write that much? (Good question!)

So anyway, I find myself in "publishing purgatory" waiting for the next big step! Keep praying and watching for my Christian historical romance novel, Gold Earrings, to arrive at http://www.amazon.com/ and http://www.barnesandnoble.com/ .

In the meantime I am marketing my second novel, A Time to Choose, a Civil War Christian historical romance to the mainline publishers. I'm still writing for www.AssociatedContent.com and www.Suite101.com .
